Italian language and culture courses

Course levels correspond to A1-C2 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference.

A1-A2 elementary
B1-B2 intermediate
C1-C2 advanced

A language proficiency test is not required.

Course venue

Classes are held at Ullankatu 3 A 2, 00140 Helsinki.
Online courses are held on Zoom.

The summer session has 4 classes, which are held once a week and last 90 minutes.

There are no textbooks for the summer courses, we use materials prepared by the teacher. PLUS language courses strengthen and recap what has been learned in the spring courses. If you took and A1.1 level course in the spring, you can register for the A1.1 PLUS course for the summer. In order to attend a PLUS course, you must have studied Italian previously (in years) as follows:

A1.1+ / 6 months = 14 classes A1.3+ / 1,5 y A2.2+ /  2,5 y B1.2+ / 4 y B2.3+ / 6 y
A1.2+ / 1 year = 24 classes A2.1+ / 2 y A2.3+ / 3 y B2.1+ / 5 y C2.1+ / 8 y

Special courses

Roma (starting from A2) During the course, students will learn many interesting facts about the Eternal City. They will become familiar with the most famous landmarks, as well as places that tourists don’t know about. During the lessons we will talk about the history of Rome, Roman songs, traditional dishes, typical Roman products, and other curiosities (for example: How to cook authentic pasta alla carbonara?). We will also learn useful expressions and phrases for traveling in Italian and get familiar with the Roman dialect. In addition, students will receive practical information and useful tips, such as the names of restaurants, pizzerias and other places where you can eat well in Rome, as well as where to take perfect photos. The course will be held in Italian via Zoom.

Letteratura B2-C2 During this course, we will read Michela Murgia’s novel Tre ciotole.

Registration fees

Course fee: 80 €

No reductions.

Fees must be paid by bank transfer according to the instructions contained in our confirmation e-mail. Registration fees shall not be refunded after the beginning of the course.

Enrollment in the course is binding. If the student cannot attend the course despite having paid, participation may be postponed to the next session.
