This year Finnish dance is strongly present in the Gala.Evening starts with Andrea Miltnerová’s choreography Magnetic Ballerina, where the magnetic ballerina flutters inside a minimalist yet multi-dimensional space created to expand our perception and experience of dance.Miltnerová is a British dancer and choreographer of Czech origin, who lives in Prague. For the past few years she has been specialising in baroque dance and its creative fusion with other techniques, above all contemporary dance. The main piece of the evening will be world-famous Italian Jacopo Godani’s intense and explosively energetic Spazio-Tempo danced by the Finnish National Ballet. In this piece Finnish National Ballet is at its best, as Jorma Uotinen says.Jacopo Godani started as an Artistic Director of The Fortsythe Company at the beginning of 2015.Internationally best known Finnish flamenco dancer Kaari Martin presents one of her most beloved choreographies The Raven. The Raven is a tribute to those Spanish flamenco artists who worked in the 1930s and were influenced by surrealism. In 2012 The Raven claimed a triple victory from the prestigious Certamen de Coreografia de Flamenco y Danza Española choreography competition, taking the main prizes for best solo choreography, best music and best costumes.Ballet, contemporary dance and flamenco will be accompanied by the most talented and funniest Finnish street dancers.Dennis “Ätä” Nylund, the world champion of break dance, brings on stage his hilarious parody of a conductor, who conducts his orchestra with full movement. Will Funk For Food is a group of highly talented Finnish locking dancers, who are always on a good mood.
