Domenico Ermirio has been playing cello since he was eight. He took the degree in 2008 at Genoa’s “N. Paganini” Conservatory (Italy) in the class of Nevio Zanardi. Then he studied with Dario Destefano. He is attending the Master in Music Performance with Johannes Goritzki in Lugano’s Conservatory (Switzerland).
He attended various masterclasses: in Alessandria’s Conservatory, in 2009 the Summer Courses in Bergolo (CN), in 2007 the Gargano Masters in Vieste (FG) and in 2011 the Summer Courses in Castelnuovo Don Bosco (AT), all with Dario Destefano. In 2012 he joined the project Study Abroad at the University of Georgia Athens (U.S.A.) organized together with Alessandria’s Conservatory, with solo and chamber music lessons given by Hugh Hogdson School of Music’s teachers David Starkweather and Evgeny Rivkin.
He spends a lot of activity in chamber groups with different performances both in Italy and abroad. He played for Amici del Nuovo Carlo Felice e del Conservatorio “Paganini” e Liguria Eventi (Genoa), Piemonte in Musica (Alessandria), Associazione Culturale Secondo Maggio (Milan). He played in the United States Hugh Hodgson School of Music, Athens, as part of the project Study Abroad) in Piano trio with Giulia Ermirio (violin) and Chris Iuliano (piano), with a recording for a project “Tra Sogno e Realtà”. In France he takes part to “Suona Italiano” a series of performances in different French music schools (Orléans and Châteauroux Conservatories and the Young Orchestras Alfred Loewenguth in Paris) playing the chamber music of the great Italian opera’s composers: Gioacchino Rossini, Giacomo Puccini and Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari. He has been playing since 2010 with the cello group Dodecacellos with many exhibitions in Northern Italy. His interest in contemporary music meets the Dynamis Ensemble, conducted by Javier Torres Maldonado with performances in Parma.
