Helsinki Organ Summer
Giovanni Clavorà Braulin
The Italian organist Giovanni Clavorà Braulin performs regularly in Italy and overseas. He is the Professor of organ and organ composition at the Conservatory Luigi Cherubini in Florence.
Mr. Clavorà Braulin completed his musical studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, with diplomas in piano, organ and organ composition, polyphonic music and conducting. He graduated at the University “ La Sapienza” in Rome with first class honours degree in musicology and classical literature.
Having been awarded in national organ competitions, Mr. Clavorà Braulin won the International Organ Competition “F. Peeters” in Mechelen, Belgium in 1988. He has recorded concerts for Italian and foreign radio and television companies. He has also served as a jury member in several organ competitions. On the occasion of the Millennium, he published a book entitled History of Sacred Music in Rome between 1300 and 2000. He regularly writes articles for specialist magazines. He is the artistic director of the concerts given at St. Marcello Church in Rome.
Zuzana Janácková
The Slovak organist Zuzana Janácková completed musical studies at the Conservatory and at the Academy of Music in Bratislava with first class honours. She subsequently took a diploma in organ and organ composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. She is currently organist at SS. Giacchino e Anna Church in Rome.
Ms. Janácková has received awards at numerous national organ competitions, and in 1988 she received a prize as the best interpreter of contemporary music at the Franz Liszt International Organ Competition in Budapest.
Ms. Janácková has made recordings for Slovak radio and television, and is currently giving concerts in Italy and overseas. www.urkukesa.fi
