Italian guests at the festival:
The Grand Old Man of animation, Italian Bruno Bozzetto, has been awarded at Tampere Film Festival several times in the 1970s. This year, the festival will screen his retrospective: two short film screenings and the feature-length animation Allegro non troppo.Read our interview with Bruno Bozzetto here.
Yuri Ancarani (b. 1972) is an Italian video artist and filmmaker. His documentaries are exceptionally visual, allowing ample time and space for images. Carefully constructed arrangements follow each other in rhythmic breaths. No surprise then that one of Ancarani’s theses and future aspirations is to strengthen the rising Italian cinema so that images can gain more power.
