TRY I WILL!is a documentary film narrating Luigi Fantinelli’s experience. Although a Down syndrome sufferer, Luigi overcame,
one by one, all the challenges posed by the education programme tackled going as far as to attend the University of Bologna and obtain an Erasmus Scholarship. This is not merely the story of courage and personal endeavour. It is also the fruit of a multi-disciplinary, human-oriented and professional project undertaken by persons committed to helping the disabled towards active.

The year 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of Erasmus, the EU youth exchange programme. Erasmus upholds the ideas of friendship, mutual respect, tolerance, curiosity, cooperation, honesty and perseverance. These are all manifested in the European Film Weeks 2017 programme as well. The films screened will tell us stories on themes such as multiculturalism, life-long learning and international relations. This time the programme features 25 inspiring films from all around Europe.

The event is organized by the European Commission Representation in Finland and the European Parliament Information Office in Finland, together with the embassies and cultural institutes of the EU countries and the EU candidate countries.

The event is free of charge.
Eurooppasali (Malminkatu 16, Helsinki) has room for 100 spectators. Tickets are distributed in the Eurooppasali entrance hall one hour before each performance begins. The films are subtitled in English.
