The Barbuire of the Ancient Carneval of Lajetto:

Ten members of the The Barbuire of the Ancient Carneval of Lajetto, will perform the Dante Barbuire, a theatrical work-in-progress combining the tradition of Lajetto with the music of Carria and extracts from Cantos XXI-XXIII of Dante’s Comedy.
Barbuire is name of the most important and frightening masks of the Carneval of Lajetto. The Barbuire of the Ancient Carneval of Lajetto consists of 30 members – 10 of which will be present in Helsinki. The Bear, Doctor, Soldier, Gentleman, Madam, Harlequins and the Old Ones are all characters from the carneval which we’ll meet in the Dante Barbuire.
In addition, a lecture about the Carneval of Lajetto will be given by cultural anthropologist Caterina Agus.

Eugenio Caria will accompany the Dante Barbuire by own compositions played live.
